If you’ve been to the doctor, been told your labs are “normal,” and sent home with a prescription — when what you needed was answers — you are not alone.
Millions of women are navigating that exact frustration. Functional medicine may be the most important paradigm shift available to you if conventional care isn’t giving you results.
Functional Medicine vs. Conventional Medicine
Conventional medicine is designed to diagnose disease and treat symptoms. It is lifesaving in acute situations. But it is often inadequate for the complex, chronic, multi-system struggles that affect so many women: fatigue, hormonal imbalance, gut dysfunction, autoimmune conditions, weight resistance, and mood dysregulation.
Functional medicine asks a different question. Instead of “What drug matches this symptom?” it asks: Why is this symptom happening, and what does the body need to heal?
It looks for underlying causes: inflammation, toxin burden, nutrient deficiencies, gut dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, genetic predispositions, and the profound role of stress and emotional health in physical function.
The Body as a System
One of the core insights of functional medicine is that the body is an interconnected system — not a collection of isolated parts. Your gut affects your hormones. Your hormones affect your mood. Your mood affects your sleep. Your sleep affects your metabolism. Your metabolism affects your gut.
You cannot treat one piece in isolation and expect lasting results.
This systems-level thinking is why functional medicine practitioners often order different tests than conventional physicians — comprehensive hormone panels, gut microbiome analysis, nutrient testing, inflammatory markers — and why the treatment plans look different. They’re designed to address the cause, not manage the expression.
Why Faith Belongs in This Conversation
The spiritual dimension of health is one area where even functional medicine often falls short. But the connection between our inner life and our physical health is not metaphorical.
Chronic unresolved stress, trauma, and emotional pain create measurable physiological effects — in cortisol levels, inflammatory markers, gut permeability, and immune function. A truly whole-person approach to healing must include the spirit.
This is not alternative medicine. It is science catching up to what people of faith have known all along: we are embodied souls, and healing happens when we are treated as such.
Romans 12:2 — “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” — is not just theology. It is neuroscience. The brain shapes the body. What we believe influences how our biology functions. This is the foundation of everything I teach.
Dr. Tabatha’s Approach
As a triple board-certified physician with training in OB/GYN, menopause, and functional medicine, I built Fast to Faith at the intersection of clinical expertise and deep personal faith.
The 40-Day Program is not a substitute for medical care — it is a complement to it. It gives women the tools to understand their own bodies, address root causes, and heal in a way that is sustainable and soul-honoring.
For women who want direct clinical support, Her Higher Health and the HealthieHer program offer functional medicine-based care designed specifically for women navigating hormonal health challenges.
If you’ve been told you’re fine when you know you’re not — this approach is for you.
