When Cravings Become Clues, Not Character Flaws
For years, Beverly wrestled with a familiar cycle—promising herself to quit sugar, only to end up back at the drive-thru for another soda. The turning point came when she heard a talk at the Kick Sugar Summit that connected food, gut health, and scripture in a way that made sense.
It reframed everything: her cravings weren’t a moral failure; they were a signal. Her body wasn’t broken—it was crying out for healing.
That single revelation led her to a book, a coaching academy, and ultimately a sisterhood of women pursuing health through both science and scripture.
“You don’t overcome by willpower alone. You heal when you connect your choices to purpose and faith.” – Dr. Tabatha
The Perfect Storm That Led to Healing
Beverly’s health challenges reached a breaking point after an infected root canal, six rounds of antibiotics, and months of soft foods. Her gut was inflamed, her energy drained, and her cravings out of control.
Learning about leaky gut and the microbiome gave her a roadmap. With prayer, journaling, and gentle coaching support, she began rebuilding her health from the inside out—one mindful meal, one verse, one breath at a time.
At first, she skipped the supplement guidance. Later, she learned how targeted support for gut repair and blood sugar balance could quiet her cravings and calm her nervous system.
The results were unmistakable:
-
The soda stayed sealed.
-
The homemade cupcake tasted shockingly sweet.
-
A bowl of ice cream went straight to the trash.
This wasn’t restriction—it was restoration. Her palate reset, her energy stabilized, and her faith deepened.
From “Begging” Prayers to Receiving Grace
During one of the hardest seasons of her life—caring for her father with advanced dementia while living part-time in a camper—Beverly could have lost all momentum. Instead, she leaned on her Fast to Faith sisterhood, who prayed with her through every setback and celebrated every small win.
Through scripture meditation, journaling, and Lectio Divina, Beverly found a rhythm that anchored her days. She moved from begging God for change to receiving peace through trust and surrender.
“Romans 8:28 reminded me that all things—even cravings and exhaustion—work together for good.” – Beverly
This shift turned her healing into a spiritual practice. Her faith wasn’t something she reached for in desperation—it became the structure that held her steady.
Freedom at 62: A New Identity
At 62, Beverly doesn’t just feel better—she feels free. She has energy in the afternoons, sleeps deeply, and lives in alignment with her faith and purpose.
She describes it simply:
“For the first time in my adult life, food doesn’t control me. I’m at peace in my body and at home in my faith.”
Her story is proof that faith-based healing from sugar addiction isn’t about deprivation—it’s about identity. When you remember who you are in Christ, you make choices that reflect that truth.
